Are you ready to be part of a dynamic landscaping team and embrace the beauty of winter while helping to keep our community safe and accessible? We are seeking reliable and skilled Snow Grader and Loader Operators to join our team. In this critical role, you'll operate graders and loaders to efficiently clear snow from roads, parking lots, and other essential areas, ensuring safety and accessibility during the winter season. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and need to adapt to changing weather conditions.
Possibility of continued employment into the Green Season as part of our Landscape Maintenance or Landscape Construction crews beginning April through November.
Responsibilities:
· Operate graders and loaders for snow removal and clearing operations safely and efficiently.
· Clear snow from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas.
· Pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
· Take before and after photos of each site.
· Take photos of any piles made on site, notify snow supervisor, and remove from site within 24 hours.
· Load, secure/strap down, and unload equipment and materials from trucks and trailers ensuring safe transport.
· Perform pre-shift inspections and maintain equipment fitness and safety compliance.
· Dress for the weather and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
· Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
Shifts and Schedules:
· Snow clearing shifts are varied and can include late evening and night start times.
· Longer hours and weekend shifts when required.
· Must be flexible with shift times.
· Availability on short notice.
· Monitor weather forecast to anticipate incoming weather events.
Requirements:
· Legally authorized to work in Canada.
· Valid Saskatchewan class 5 license with G Endorsement.
· Availability for longer hours and weekends when needed.
· Reliable transportation to and from work.
· Ability to work shifts with flexible timings including late evenings and night start times.
· Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule to accommodate varying snowfall patterns.
· Ability to read and interpret maps.
· Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in cold weather conditions.
· Effective English communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Ability to follow safe working procedures.
· Good observation skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
· Snow removal experience is an asset.
Work Conditions:
· Various locations including both residential and commercial sites.
· Extremely flexible working hours, including nights, weekend, and holiday work.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Work safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
· Work outdoors in various conditions including extreme cold, rain, dust, noise, and wet conditions.
